Hundreds of schools in England lose outstanding status after reinspection

There are more than 500 schools that have been persistently graded failing since 2005 - showing that Ofsted is not effectively supporting these schools. Of these , 55% have intakes in the most deprived quintile, 28% in the second most deprived and just 1% from schools with the least deprived intakes. These disparities show Ofsted judgements are more a reflection of the children who attend a school than the efforts of those who work in them.
