The publication of this article is very timely following immediately after the Scottish hearing of Anne Glennie's petition calling for teacher-training in evidence-informed reading instruction specifically to include systematic synthetic phonics.

I suggest that this article, too, has international relevance regarding teacher-training and the nature/content of reading instruction:
